Basic Data
From 1892 through 1954, the CRRNJ Terminal was the embarkment point for approx. 80% of the nation's immigrants from Ellis Island. Transporting northern, southern and eastern Europeans (among others) to points inland, the CRRNJ Terminal was fixture in immigrant's lives equal to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
In 1975 the building was added to both the New Jersey State and National Register of Historic Places.
